Over the course of a year, photographer Juliane Eirich, sound artist Norbert Lang, and writer Lisa Vera Schwabe visited the moorlands around Malchin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. They sought out conversations with local people about their memories of living with and within the moorlands, and compiled an archive of photographs, texts, and sounds.

Each season brought new observations and stories, revealing a different facet of the landscape. From these impressions, 20 postcards were created, combining photographs, texts, and sounds to invite people to explore and experience the landscape—and to send their own Schöne Grüße aus dem Moor (Kind greetings from the peatland)

The project was created in collaboration with Nina Körner of the Greifswald Mire Centre and was funded by the Andrea von Braun Foundation and the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte District.
